Homemade Laundry Soap

My Facebook Reel & Youtube Short is concise and straightforward, demonstrating how I make powdered laundry soap. Due to my sensitivity to strong fragrances, I had to find an alternative to the garden meadow-scented pods my husband prefers, especially after suffering from hives. Initially, I managed with unscented pods until they became unavailable in 2020.

Years earlier, I had attempted making laundry soap, but it left my clothes with an unpleasant stink-stank-stunk. I realized I needed to refine the recipe. After experimenting in my lab, I developed a formula that has kept my clothes fresh for three years without any odor issues. I've even invested in a cheese grater to simplify the soap grating process.

Here is the recipe:

1 C Washing Soda

1 C Baking Soda

1/4 C Borax (optional)

1/2 bar of soap, grated (I use unscented, but you can use scented)

Shake before each use. Use 1/2 C in each load.

I have a regular washer so am not sure regarding high efficiency washers.

That’s it! Quick & easy!
